Proposals for the development on the site were subject to intensive public consultation and engagement with the Local Authority over a long period of time, with the main challenges focusing on the retention of an urban open space gap between Biddenham and adjacent settlements; achieving appropriate levels of residential density which would be in character with its surroundings; and meeting Bedford’s community safety guidelines.
